AFCAT 2021: NOTIFICATIONS
Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the official notification for AFCAT 2, 2021 exam to recruit 334 vacancies at the flying branch and ground duties for both technical and non-technical posts. Air Force Common Admission Test commonly known as AFCAT is an entrance examination conducted by Indian Air Force to select eligible and desirable candidates for multiple posts in Flying and Ground Duty [Technical and Non- Technical]. OVERVIEW
AFCAT is an acronym for Air Force Common Admission Test which is a national level examination for selection into Indian Air Force as a Grade A Officer. The AFCAT Exam is conducted twice in a year for recruiting Technical & Non-Technical branches of the Indian Air Force.
AFCAT is applicable for both Male & Female candidates who can be shortlisted for the following branches:
- Technical Branch – Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science
- Ground Duty – Logistics, Administration, Accounts

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2021
Candidates who are willing to take AFCAT 2 2021 must be a citizen of India. The brief AFCAT eligibility criteria for different branches/courses is mentioned below for your reference.
Education Qualification
- Graduation with a minimum of 3 years degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks is required.
- For Flying Branch, a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level is a must.
Age Limit
It varies as per the branch. Here is a brief detail of the age limit and relaxation:
- Flying Branch (AFCAT & NCC Entry): 20 – 24 years as of January 1, 2021.
- Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical): 20 – 26 years as of January 1, 2021.
- The DOB accepted by the IAF is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University.
Marital Status
- Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.
- Widows/ Widowers and divorcees below 25 years are also not eligible.
AFCAT Application Form 2021: How to Apply?
Application Form for AFCAT is made available in online mode only. The AFCAT 2 2021 application form had started on June 01, 2021. The step by step AFCAT registration cum application process is mentioned below.
AFCAT Registration
- Go to the official career website of the Indian Air force.
- Click on the Candidates login section.
- A new web page will appear. Fill in the registration details asked for new users like the name; e-mail ID, mobile number, etc.
- Click on submit. A new AFCAT registration ID and password would be sent to the registered Email address.
- Note: It is to be noted that the candidate should keep their registered email id and phone number active, throughout the selection process.
AFCAT Apply Online
- Fill in the details as per the directions are given on the webpage.
- Select the preference of branch, AFCAT Exam Center, Subject for EKT exam, etc.
- Upload Your signature and Photograph (as per dimensions provided in the notification).
- Click on submit.
AFCAT Application Fee
AFCAT application fee will be paid online either by Credit/Debit or Net Banking, etc. It is mandatory to submit the application fee in order to get clearance with the application form. Below we have shared the AFCAT application fee to be submitted at the end of the application form.
