The UPSC NDA II Online Written Examination has been rescheduled for 14th November 2021 which was earlier postsponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Check the important dates for NDA-I & NDA-II 2021 from the below table and mark on your calendar so you do not miss out the exam dates.

OVERVIEW
National Defence Academy or NDA is one of the most sought-after defence entrance exams in the country. The exam is conducted for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA is conducted twice a year in two stages: written exam and SSB Interview. In 2020, a total of 5.3 lakh candidates had applied for the exam, out of which 2.4 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. UPSC prepares a list of candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Such candidates are called for SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test.National Defence Academy & Naval Academy (NDA & NA) is conducted twice a year: NDA 1 and NDA 2. The UPSC releases the NDA & NA calendar. After appearing in the written exam, the shortlisted candidates will be called for the SSB Interview process.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for the exam.
Age limit: For NDA 1 exam, both male and female candidates must have born not earlier than July 2, 2002, and not later than July 1, 2005. For NDA 2 exam, both male and female candidates must have born not earlier than January 2, 2003, and not later than January 1, 2006.
Educational qualification: The educational qualification is different for different academies. Candidates can check the educational qualification prescribed for different academies below:

NDA Syllabus
The syllabus for NDA 2021 written test will comprise two sections – Mathematical Ability and General Ability. The questions in NDA 2021 will be asked from topics and concepts of the 10+2 level. NDA Exam Pattern
Students can check details of NDA Exam pattern below:
- Exam Mode: NDA exam will be held on twice through in Pen and Paper (offline) mode.
- Language of Paper: The language of the paper will be in English or Hindi language.
- Type of Questions: The objective type of questions will be asked in the paper.
- Number of Sections: The paper will be divided into two sections – Mathematics & General Ability Test.
- Total Marks: Paper will be of total 900 marks (Mathematics – 300; General Ability Test – 600). Also the interview round (SSB) will be of 900 marks.
- Duration of the Exam: The time duration to complete the paper will be of 5 hours (2½ hours each).
- Marking Scheme: 33% of the mark assigned to the question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Selection Procedure (SSB Interview)
Candidates who qualify NDA 2021 written examination will be called for the SSB interview round to be organized in two stages- Stage 1 & Stage 2. SSB interview round will be conducted over four to five days.
Stage 1 of the interview will be an Officer Intelligence Rating and Picture Perception & Description Test.
Candidates who passed in Stage 2 will be called for Stage II. Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference will be conducted in the second stage. Candidates qualified in both the stages of SSB interview will have to undergo a medical test.
NDA & NA 2021 Admit Card
The UPSC NDA & NA 2021 admit card can be downloaded from the UPSC official website. All the aspirants are required to know that no Admit Card will be sent by post or any other mode. NDA 2021 admit cards will be available to download 3 weeks before the date of examination.
- UPSC NDA/NA (I) date of the exam will be on Sunday, 18 April 2021. UPSC NDA (I) admit card 2021 will be released before a week or two of the exam date and expected in 1st week of April 2021.
- NDA 2021 II exam will be on 14 November 2021 and NDA 2021 (II) admit cards will be released before a week or two of the exam date and expected in the last week of October 2021.
UPSC will announce the result of NDA written exam if PDF at its official website The NDA 2021 result PDF will contain the roll numbers and names of qualified candidates. All those candidates who will be considered qualified in the NDA written exam will have to appear for the SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test.
After the SSB Interview, the examination authority will prepare the final merit list. NDA final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidate’s written exam and SSB Interview. Final admission will be offered to candidates based on their rank in the merit list.

- Candidates can search their roll numbers and names in the result PDF by using Ctrl+F

Scorecard – Within 15 days from the date of the NDA result announcement, the authorities will release the scorecard which will be available on the authority’s website for 30 days. The scorecard of NDA will contain details like the candidate’s name, roll number, sectional and overall scores.
